AFH help & guidance

Buyer guide

From your first account to your first delivery. Follow the journey, or jump straight to the task you need.

For buyers in the diaspora. Buyer signup: United States only.

Before you begin

  • Buyer signup: United States only. You must be based in the United States to register as a buyer.
  • AFH currently delivers to all 50 US states.
  • Have your email, a flexible measuring tape and a US delivery address ready.
  • Keep order questions, changes and support requests in the app.

Screens are rendered from the app with example data. Appearance can vary on your phone; follow the named controls.

Get started

Create your buyer account and find your way around.

Create your account

Welcome then Buyer then Create an account

  1. Buyer signup is currently for customers based in the United States only. Choose the buyer experience when you open AFH. You can browse first, but you need an account to save items, join events or order.
  2. Enter your name and email. Create a password of at least 10 characters, then type the same password into Confirm password.
  3. Check the acceptance box for the Buyer Terms. Tap the linked terms or privacy notice to read them in the app. Opening the reader or scrolling to its end is not required to tick the box.
  4. Submit the form. If an error appears beside a field, correct it and try again. Use Sign in instead if you already have an account.
Keep in mind

Google sign-in is available in supported app builds. Choose the Google account you want linked to AFH, and complete the terms acceptance requested for a new account. Do not create a second account to recover an existing one.

  1. 1Confirm password
  2. 2I agree to the Buyer Terms and Conditions (required).
Example app screen · web-rendered

Confirm your email

Registration then Confirm your email

  1. Check that the email address on the confirmation screen is correct.
  2. Open the AFH confirmation email and follow its link. Return to the app and tap I have confirmed it.
  3. If the email has not arrived, check spam or junk, then use the resend option when its countdown finishes.
  4. If you used the wrong address, go back and correct it rather than repeatedly requesting email to the wrong inbox.
Keep in mind

Buyers can carry on browsing while verification is pending. Complete verification before using actions that require it. Never share a password or an email verification link in chat.

  1. 1I have confirmed it
  2. 2That address is wrong

Find your way around

  1. Use the main browsing screen to discover garments and brands. Search narrows your results; opening a piece shows its full listing.
  2. Use Orders for paid purchases, Events for group orders, and your messages area for conversations and notices.
  3. Open Account for your details, measurements, delivery addresses and account settings. Saved pieces and the bag are accessible through their controls in the app.
  4. Use the back arrow to return from an inner page. Pull down to refresh if a connection was interrupted. Important tracking screens also refresh while active.
Keep in mind

A refresh cannot download new information while your phone is offline. Reconnect before assuming a status, saved change or payment is complete.

Set your delivery address

Check the recipient and the address before your first purchase.

Add and check a US address

Account then Delivery addresses then Add an address

  1. Tap Add an address. Enter the recipient name and a reachable phone number, including the country code.
  2. Start typing in Recipient's US address. Select the correct address from the suggestions instead of leaving only your search text.
  3. Add an apartment, suite or unit when needed. Tap Check address.
  4. Review the checked address carefully, including the city, state and ZIP code, then tap Confirm and save.
Keep in mind

Only United States delivery addresses are supported. An address suggestion is not a saved address until you finish the confirmation step. If search or validation fails, reconnect and retry; do not use a different address simply to pass the check.

  1. 1Recipient's US address
  2. 2Check address
Example app screen · web-rendered

Choose the right recipient at checkout

  1. Save separate addresses for different recipients where needed.
  2. At checkout, read the address under Delivering to. Use Use another delivery address when an alternative is available, or Set another address to add one.
  3. Check the recipient, unit number and phone before paying.
Keep in mind

Adding or removing an address in Account does not reroute an existing order. Contact support from that order immediately if a paid order has the wrong delivery details.

  1. 1Use current delivery address
  2. 2Set another address

Save your measurements

Follow the videos, save your numbers, optionally add a reference photo and confirm your profile.

Get ready to measure

Account then Measurements

  1. Open Measurements to reach Cut for you.
  2. Tap See how to take measurements. Get a flexible body measuring tape and use the inches side.
  3. Stand naturally. Keep the tape level and close to your body without pulling it tight. Ask someone to help with measurements you cannot take accurately alone.
  4. After Step 4 of the guide, tap Add measurement profile. You can also add a profile directly from Cut for you.
Keep in mind

Record body measurements in inches. Do not add tailoring allowances. Use the definition beneath each field when a label is unfamiliar.

  1. 1See how to take measurements
  2. 2Add measurement profile
Example app screen · web-rendered

Watch the male or female guide

How to take measurements then Step 3

  1. In Step 3, choose Watch the male guide video or Watch the female guide video for the person you are measuring.
  2. Play, pause and replay a step as needed. The video stays inside AFH.
  3. When creating a measurement profile, select Male or Female. A matching watch-video button appears below the selection.
  4. Use that button to keep the guide open while filling the form. Close the video when you want more room for the fields.
Keep in mind

If the video stays on a spinner, check your connection, close and reopen the player, and try again. Your saved draft is separate from video playback.

  1. 1Watch the male guide video
  2. 2Watch the female guide video
Example app screen · web-rendered

Enter measurements and an optional photo

Measurements then Add measurement profile

  1. Choose Male or Female. The fields follow the highlighted steps in the corresponding video.
  2. In What to call this set (required), enter a name you have not used before, such as My measurements or For my partner.
  3. Enter the measurements you know, reading each short field description. Leave any unknown measurement blank rather than guessing or entering zero.
  4. At the bottom of the form, find Reference photo (optional). A photo is recommended to help the tailor understand your shape and posture, but you can save measurements and order without one. It does not replace accurate measurements.
  5. Choose one clear full-body front photo in fitted clothing, with your face out of frame. Adults only: no nudity, underwear, children or other people. Use your own photo or obtain the adult wearer's informed permission.
  6. Tap Upload photo. Read the sharing notice, choose Agree and continue if you agree, then select one image from your photo library. Wait for the upload to finish. Use View reference photo to check it, or Replace photo to choose a different image before saving.
  7. Tap Save to save the profile and its uploaded photo. If more than half of the fields are blank, choose to review them or explicitly confirm Save anyway. If the upload fails, reconnect and retry, or save without a photo.
Keep in mind

A profile name is required and must be unique within your account. Missing numbers may need clarification before making a garment. The photo is shared privately with the tailor fulfilling an order using this profile and authorised AFH staff, including in Nigeria. It is not public or sent to AI. It stays with the saved profile and related orders until you remove the photo or delete the profile; the 30-day AI try-on image rule does not apply.

  1. 1Watch the male guide video
  2. 2What to call this set (required)
Example app screen · web-rendered

Continue an unfinished profile

  1. The form saves your entries as a draft on the current device while you type. Check the draft status before leaving.
  2. After reopening AFH, sign in to the same account on the same device and return to Measurements.
  3. Tap Continue measurement profile to resume. If draft saving reported an error, use Retry draft before closing the app.
  4. To start over, use Discard draft and confirm. This removes the unfinished draft, not your saved measurement profiles.
Keep in mind

A local draft is not a submitted profile and is not a cross-device backup. Uninstalling the app, clearing its storage or changing devices can remove access to it. Reconnect and tap Save to submit the finished profile.

  1. 1Continue measurement profile
  2. 2Discard draft
Example app screen · web-rendered

Confirm and manage your saved profile

  1. Return to Cut for you and check the saved profile name and values. If a photo is attached, tap View reference photo to review it.
  2. Tap Confirm Measurement on a set marked Needs confirming. Confirmed profiles can be selected at checkout.
  3. To remove only the image, tap Remove reference photo and confirm Remove photo. Your measurements stay, but the photo is removed from this profile and related orders.
  4. Create a new, clearly named set if you need different measurements. To remove a saved set you no longer need, tap Delete measurement profile and confirm Delete profile. Its reference photo is also deleted.
  5. If an active order or group prevents deleting the whole profile, follow the displayed message. You can still remove the reference photo separately.
  6. At checkout, check the selected profile instead of assuming the first one belongs to the intended wearer.
Keep in mind

The measurements attached to a paid order are a snapshot. Changing or deleting a saved profile does not change that order's recorded numbers. Photo removal is different: removing the photo or successfully deleting its profile revokes access to the image in related orders and starts deletion. Contact the vendor and support promptly about any measurement error; do not assume a new profile fixes an order already in production.

  1. 1Confirm Measurement
  2. 2View reference photo
  3. 3Remove reference photo
  4. 4Delete measurement profile

Find and save a piece

Check the actual listing, not just its cover image.

  1. Browse the available audience, garment and fabric choices, or use search to narrow the selection.
  2. Tap a listing to open it. Tap the maker or brand name to see that store and its other pieces.
  3. Change or clear filters if the result list is empty. A new approved listing may appear when the active browsing page refreshes.
  1. 1Search pieces, fabrics, makers
  2. 2Filter
Example app screen · web-rendered

Review a listing before ordering

  1. Look through the photographs and video. Read the description, material, garment, size or measurement requirements and what is included.
  2. Check whether headwear is included in the single price or the group price; these can differ.
  3. Review the price, making time and arrival estimate. For an occasion, allow enough time for production, inspection and shipping.
  4. Save the piece with its save control to return later, or use Buy now or Add to bag when ready.
Keep in mind

Saved items and bag items do not reserve a price or place an order. Confirm current availability and the final charges at checkout. A virtual try-on does not replace the listing details.

Use AI virtual try-on

Explore the look with your own photo. Measurements still determine the order.

Give consent and choose your photo

Eligible listing then See it on you

  1. Open See it on you on a listing where the feature is available.
  2. Read the photo instructions and consent text. Open Terms for the current AI terms, then tick the consent box if you agree.
  3. Tap Choose a photo and allow access to the photo you want to use. Choose one clear photo of yourself, with your face and whole body visible from the top of your head to at least your ankles.
  4. Use a photo with no other person in it. Wait for generation to finish. If the photo is rejected, follow the displayed feedback and remaining-attempt allowance.
Keep in mind

Try-on is optional and may not appear on every listing. Do not upload someone else's image without the required permission. A failed connection is not a reason to repeatedly submit the same photo.

  1. 1Add one photo
  2. 2Choose a photo

Review the preview and leave feedback

  1. Look at the generated preview as a style illustration, not a promise of exact fit, fabric, colour or body shape.
  2. When the feedback prompt appears, select a rating and optionally describe what worked or looked wrong. Tap Send rating, or use the offered skip option.
  3. Tap Done to return to the listing. Where available, Your preview lets you revisit an existing result.
  4. Choose a confirmed measurement profile when ordering, regardless of the preview.
Keep in mind

AFH's try-on images are deleted after 30 days. Alibaba's handling follows its own applicable retention policy; see the Privacy Policy for details. Feedback is optional.

Bag, checkout and payment

Review your selections and charges before you pay.

Build and review your bag

Listing then Add to bag then Bag

  1. Use Add to bag on each chosen listing, or Buy now for a direct checkout.
  2. Open the bag and check each piece and quantity. Remove a piece you do not want.
  3. Tap Check out. If an item is no longer available or a price changes, review the message before continuing.
Keep in mind

The current checkout uses the measurement profile and delivery address selected for that checkout. To buy for different wearers or different destinations, place separate checkouts with the appropriate profile and address.

Review measurements, delivery and charges

Checkout

  1. Under Your measurements, choose your confirmed set. Use Use another measurement set or Set another measurement when needed.
  2. Under Delivering to, select the checked US address. Choose a delivery option when the app offers couriers.
  3. Review item prices, delivery, customs/import charges, any applicable discount and the total. Apply an eligible code before paying and check that the total changes.
  4. Check the arrival estimate and all selections, then tap Place this order or the event checkout's Place my order.
Keep in mind

The charge displayed before payment is the one to review. The customs/import charge is set by AFH and is not an after-delivery reconciliation of actual duties. Read the Buyer Terms for its treatment and cancellation exceptions.

  1. 1Use current measurements
  2. 2Use current delivery address
Example app screen · web-rendered

Pay and verify the result

  1. Complete the secure payment sheet and any authentication requested by your payment provider.
  2. Wait for the app to confirm the purchase and open the order or event result.
  3. Open Orders and check the reference and payment result. Keep your confirmation email as an additional record.
  4. If payment failed, correct the reported issue before retrying. If a charge appears but the result is unclear, check Orders and contact support with the payment time and reference before paying again.
Keep in mind

You place and pay for the order at AFH checkout. Once payment is confirmed and the paid order is recorded, AFH has accepted it for the vendor; the vendor cannot reject it. Conditional group orders wait for their activation requirements before production.

Order together for an event

Invite the group. Each person chooses and pays for their own order.

Create an event and share the invitation

Group-enabled listing then Create a group event

  1. Choose a listing offering group purchase and tap Create a group event.
  2. Enter the occasion name, the day of the occasion, the last day to place an order and any note for participants. Leave time for making and delivery.
  3. Tap Create and get the link. Open the event and use Share invite link to invite people.
  4. If you also want a garment, use Place my order and complete your own checkout. Creating an event does not buy you a piece.
Keep in mind

The organiser does not collect participants' payments. Each buyer provides their own measurements and delivery address. The group price and activation information are shown in the app.

  1. 1What is the occasion called
  2. 2Last day to place an order

Join an event and place your order

  1. Open the invitation and sign in when requested. Review the event and open its full listing to check the garment and inclusions.
  2. Tap Join this event, then complete Place my order with your own measurements, address and payment.
  3. Check both counts on the event: people who have joined and people who have ordered are not the same thing.
  4. The current group flow requires three people to order for activation. Follow the event's displayed status and deadline, then use Track order once your order is placed.
Keep in mind

Joining alone does not count as a paid order. If an event is full, closed or cancelled, do not try to bypass the restriction with another account. Contact support if you paid and need help with its status.

  1. 1Where the group is
  2. 2Join this event

Use event chat and manage the event

  1. Once the organiser and at least one other person have joined an open event, use See event chat.
  2. Keep group discussion about the event. Do not post private measurements, addresses, phone numbers or payment information in the group.
  3. Organisers can use Edit event details and the available participant controls. Read warnings before making changes that affect members.
  4. Track each paid order separately. A group conversation or invitation does not replace your own order confirmation.
Keep in mind

Group chat availability and production activation are different: one additional joined person opens chat, while the paid-order threshold controls activation.

Follow every piece

A purchase can contain several independently tracked pieces.

Read the order stage and tracking

Orders then Select an order

  1. Open Orders and select the piece you want to check. Read its current stage and timeline.
  2. Follow progress through making, hub inspection and onward shipping. A hub receipt is not yet delivery to you.
  3. When available, tap See tracking status for courier information, then Open courier tracking to visit the courier's tracking page. Keep checking the order if a carrier update is delayed.
  4. For a new purchase with several physical pieces, use the individual references ending in -A, -B and so on. A single-piece purchase keeps the plain order reference.
Keep in mind

Each piece can be confirmed, inspected, shipped and received independently, even when the same vendor makes every piece. Earlier purchases may retain their original shared workflow.

Open the courier's external tracking page

Orders then Select order then See tracking status

  1. Once onward shipping from the AFH hub to you is recorded, open the relevant order and look under Customer delivery. Tap See tracking status when it appears. This is delivery to you, not the tailor's earlier shipment to the Nigerian hub.
  2. On Tracking status, check the courier name and Tracking number. The screen also shows the latest courier status and shipment or delivery dates when available.
  3. Tap Open courier tracking to leave AFH and open the third-party courier's tracking page in your browser or a supported courier app. Check that the tracking number matches the one shown in AFH.
  4. If the button is missing, the courier tracking link has not been added yet. Keep the tracking number and enter it on the named courier's official tracking page instead. If no tracking information is available yet, continue checking the order in AFH.
  5. Return to AFH for the order timeline and Contact support if a link does not work, tracking remains unclear, or you need help with a missing or damaged delivery. Include the order reference, courier and tracking number.
Keep in mind

Courier updates can take time to appear and may differ temporarily from the AFH timeline. Opening an external link does not confirm receipt. Only confirm the piece received in AFH after it has actually arrived.

Ask questions and record changes

Order then Message vendor

  1. Open the relevant order and tap Message vendor when its conversation is available. You can also return through Messages.
  2. State the piece reference and your question clearly. Keep any requested changes in that order conversation.
  3. Ask the vendor to acknowledge a proposed change before relying on it. Contact support if instructions are missing, unclear or urgent.
  4. Check that the message has sent. If a send fails, reconnect and retry the unsent message rather than assuming the tailor received it.
Keep in mind

Do not exchange phone numbers, emails, social handles, external-payment links or other private contact details with the vendor. Provide delivery data through the address form. Chat changes do not automatically rewrite the paid order or its measurement snapshot.

Receive, review and keep your card

Inspect your garment, confirm the correct piece and keep your thank-you card for AFH prize announcements.

Check the package and confirm receipt

  1. When delivery arrives, match each garment to its order reference. Check contents, visible condition, material and the agreed design.
  2. Open that order and use Confirm this piece received or Confirm order received when the control is available and you have actually received it.
  3. Repeat separately for each delivered piece. Do not confirm another item simply because one parcel arrived.
  4. If something is missing or damaged, keep packaging and useful photos, and contact support from the affected order.
Keep in mind

Do not confirm receipt of an undelivered item. Confirmation is not a substitute for reporting a genuine problem, and does not remove mandatory consumer protections.

Leave a review

Delivered order then Rate this piece / Rate this order

  1. Open the delivered order and select the review action when available.
  2. Choose your rating, add an optional comment and attach suitable photos if you wish.
  3. Tap Post. Keep the review relevant to your own purchase and avoid personal contact or payment details.

Use your thank-you card for prize opportunities

Your package then Thank-you card then AFH Instagram or X

  1. Look for the AFH thank-you card in your package and keep it with your order reference. Turn it over to find the two codes on the back.
  2. Your Secret Key is the word pair to match against AFH announcements. Your Pass Key is the separate five-character code used to verify a matching entry. Keep the Pass Key private until the matching promotion tells you how to use it; do not post a photo of the back of your card.
  3. Follow AFH on Instagram or X. Watch for a post announcing your Secret Key and a gift, cash or another prize. A card is not an automatic win.
  4. When the announced Secret Key matches your card, read that promotion's eligibility, deadline and entry instructions. Reply or submit your Pass Key only through the method specified in the official AFH announcement, and within its deadline.
  5. Keep the original card and order reference. AFH verifies the matching codes and the linked order owner before awarding a prize. Follow the private verification and prize-delivery instructions provided through official AFH channels.
Keep in mind

Prizes and availability depend on the announced promotion and its rules; not every card wins and there is no guaranteed cash amount. These are promotion codes, not account passwords or checkout discount codes. Do not enter them in the app's promo-code field. Never share your AFH password, payment-card security code or bank-login details to claim a prize. If instructions are unclear, contact AFH support before sharing your Pass Key.

  2. Choose an issue category. If starting a general ticket about an order, select that order where offered.
  3. Enter a clear subject and describe what happened. Include the piece reference, relevant dates and supporting photos when available.
  4. Tap Send. Return to the ticket conversation for replies and any additional evidence requested. Check that your reply sends successfully.

Ask about cancellation, corrections or refunds

  1. Contact support promptly from the order. State whether you want a voluntary cancellation or are reporting a fault, wrong item, damage or non-delivery.
  2. For voluntary cancellation, support checks actual production with the vendor. The garment refund depends on actual production, not acknowledgement alone.
  3. After production begins but before the AFH hub ships to you, the voluntary-cancellation policy allows a refund of delivery and customs/import charges, not the garment price.
  4. After onward shipment from the AFH hub to the US buyer, voluntary cancellation is closed. Genuine defects, non-delivery and legally required remedies are assessed under the Buyer Terms.
Keep in mind

Do not send a garment back until AFH gives return instructions. Buyer-supplied incorrect measurements or instructions do not qualify for a free alteration or discretionary refund. This does not exclude remedies required by law.
